If you have received a letter from the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) for TB testing, please schedule an appointment at the Tuberculosis Department of the GGD Amsterdam Public Health Service.
The GGD Amsterdam Public Health Service serves people living in Amsterdam, Aalsmeer, Amstelveen, Diemen, Ouder-Amstel and Uithoorn. If you live somewhere else, check where to go on www.ggd.nl

- Check the IND website to see whether your nationality is eligible for exemption.
- If your nationality is not exempt from taking a TB test, please register. We will send you a letter with an appointment date.
- Please register each family member separately for the tests.
Please bring the following with you to the appointment:
- Your passport or ID
- A completed IND TB test referral form for each person
- Debit card
Tests by a Municipal Health Service (GGD) cost money In some cases, health insurance will cover the tests. Call your health insurer for more information or check your policy.
This is how the TB test is done
Adults (18 and older)
- We take a chest X-ray to see if you have tuberculosis.
- You may receive an invitation for a skin test (Mantoux test) after four weeks. This test shows whether you have ever been in contact with tuberculosis.
Children
Children up to the age of 18 must have a skin test (Mantoux test). If the skin test and an additional blood test are positive, a chest X-ray will follow.
